Cotton Bonds were issued to Finance the War for the South and Offered an Exchange rate of CSA$5=L 1 Sterling= 25 FF= 40Lbs of Cotton. Problem Was the Cotton was FOB CSA and the US Navy was in the Way. Frederick Erlanger Infatuated with the CSA's Ambassador's Daughter MATHIDE (Creole Beauty that she was) bought the French Share at 77% and tried to Sell it at 90%. Gettysburg got in the way of that.
